First things first, I got this book from NetGalley, so thank you netgalley, Diamond Book Distributors and Dark Horse Books for this opportunity.
This graphic novel is a pretty solid dose of old-school pulp comics with over the top violence, partially/completely nude females & cheesy one liners. While the stories themselves does not have that much to offer in terms of originality there is no shortage of style packed in this relatively short graphic novel.

'Bee Vixens of Mars' tells the story of some alien insects trying to take over a town with turning the town's people into part of its hive or worse and against them stands a one eyed female deputy. This features some bad-ass dialogue and action sequences. The amount of violence may seem a bit overwhelming at times but sure is a fun read with its quick pace and likeable one liners.

'Prison Ship Antares' takes even more of a cheesy setting with a space ship full of convicted female prisoners revolting against their insane warden who loves torturing. This is a piece that you should keep far away from any kids with its high amount of nudity and violence reaching a new limit. The dialogue in this story are quite funny and once again reminds us of grindhouse movies as the tile advertises.

Another lovely aspect of the GN is its gallery of 'coming attractions'. These very imaginative and innovative pieces of poster-like arts really adds much to the overall feel. The artists really did do a fine job to create the appropriate atmosphere with these.

So, this is a tribute to the old days of grindhouse movies and pulpy horror comics of the past. While it is not for everyone people who appreciate those forms of entertainment will surely enjoy this.

3.5 out of 5 stars.
